Trezor Suite: Your Secure Crypto Companion

What Is Trezor Suite?

Trezor Suite is the official desktop and mobile application for managing your Trezor hardware wallet. It replaces the legacy Trezor Wallet web interface with a more secure, feature-rich environment designed around self-custody . Available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and as a web app, Suite serves as the command center for your digital assets while your private keys remain isolated on the Trezor device . The core principle is simple: your keys never leave the hardware wallet. Suite provides the interface; Trezor provides the vault.

Security Architecture

Open Source, Continuously Audited

Every line of Trezor Suite code is open source and available for public review. Unlike one-time certifications, security is assessed continuously through community scrutiny and a bug bounty program that incentivizes responsible disclosure . This proactive model addresses threats before they can be exploited at scale.

Desktop Isolation Against Phishing

The desktop application exists specifically to reduce exposure to phishing. A standalone program can be independently verified in ways a website cannot, and it cannot be silently altered by a compromised browser extension or malicious link . For users who prioritize security, the desktop app is the recommended experience.

Device Authenticity Verification

During onboarding, Suite performs a check of your Trezor device. This includes verifying security seals and confirming that no firmware is pre-installed—a critical safeguard, as a new device should never arrive with firmware already flashed . The bootloader on every Trezor also blocks unsigned firmware from running, ensuring only official SatoshiLabs releases operate on the hardware.

Passphrase-Protected Hidden Wallets

The passphrase feature creates hidden wallets that are mathematically independent from your standard wallet. Because the passphrase is never stored on the device, it cannot be extracted through any technical exploit—even if the device falls into the hands of a sophisticated attacker . Suite makes it straightforward to create and manage multiple hidden wallets, each appearing entirely unrelated to external observers.

Privacy Features

Tor Integration

A single toggle routes all Suite traffic through the Tor network, masking your IP address and physical location from your internet service provider and from anyone monitoring network traffic . This is particularly valuable for users in regions where financial privacy is under threat.

Discreet Mode

When using your device in public, Discreet Mode blurs all sensitive balances and transaction details until you hover over them. This prevents accidental exposure of your holdings to nearby observers or cameras .

Address Freshness

Suite automatically generates a new receive address for every transaction, using the unlimited supply of addresses derived from your seed. Address reuse is a primary vector for blockchain analysis; fresh addresses make it substantially harder to link transactions to a single identity .

Locktime for Delayed Broadcasting

Locktime allows you to sign a transaction offline and broadcast it later, from a different network or location. This separates the act of signing from the act of broadcasting, further detaching your identity from your transaction activity .

Core Functionality

Portfolio and Asset Management

Suite supports thousands of coins and tokens across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and numerous EVM networks . The dashboard provides a consolidated view of balances, transaction history, and asset allocation. Recent updates have added stablecoin yield opportunities under the Earn tab and a dedicated DeFi Tokens section for EVM accounts .

Buy, Sell, Swap, and Stake

Integrated trading allows you to purchase crypto through vetted third-party providers, compare rates side by side, and swap between assets without leaving the security of your wallet . Staking is available for Ethereum, Cardano, and Solana, with rewards accruing directly to your Trezor-secured accounts.

WalletConnect and DeFi Access

WalletConnect integration connects your Trezor to over 70,000 decentralized applications—DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and more—while keeping your private keys on the hardware device . Every interaction requires physical confirmation on your Trezor, ensuring no dApp can move funds without your explicit approval.

Coin Control and Full Node Support

Advanced users can connect Suite to their own Bitcoin full node, achieving complete sovereignty over blockchain verification . Coin control features allow granular selection of UTXOs for enhanced privacy when sending Bitcoin.

Mobile Experience

The Trezor Suite mobile app brings portfolio tracking, buying, selling, and receiving to Android and iOS. Full transaction signing on mobile requires the Trezor Safe 7 with Bluetooth connectivity; older models have limited iOS compatibility due to Apple’s wired accessory restrictions . Android users enjoy broader compatibility across the Trezor lineup. Recent mobile updates have added Bitcoin swaps, Cardano native token support, and expanded passphrase length to 128 characters .

Getting Started

  1. Download only from official sources. Visit trezor.io/trezor-suite or the official GitHub releases page. Never trust third-party download sites .
  2. Connect your Trezor via USB or Bluetooth (Safe 7).
  3. Verify device authenticity through Suite’s onboarding checks.
  4. Create or recover your wallet, writing down your recovery seed offline and never digitally.
  5. Set a strong PIN and consider enabling a passphrase for hidden wallets.
  6. Activate the coins and networks you intend to use.

What Suite Does Not Do

Trezor Suite is not a hot wallet. It cannot sign transactions without the physical device present and confirmed. It is not a custodial service—no one at SatoshiLabs can recover your funds if you lose your seed and device. It is not a guarantee against user error: sending to a wrong address, falling for a phishing scam, or exposing your seed will still result in irreversible loss. Security is a partnership between the tool and the person using it.

Disclaimer

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Trezor Suite or any Trezor hardware wallet. By downloading, installing, or using the software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below. No Financial Advice. Nothing in this document constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Cryptocurrency markets are volatile and unpredictable. The value of digital assets can decline to zero. You should never invest more than you can afford to lose entirely. Consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions. Self-Custody Means Self-Responsibility. Trezor Suite and Trezor hardware wallets are self-custody tools. You alone control your private keys and recovery seed. SatoshiLabs, Trezor Company s.r.o., and any affiliates cannot access your funds, cannot freeze your accounts, and cannot reverse transactions. Consequently, they cannot recover your assets if you lose your recovery seed, forget your PIN, or suffer a device failure without a backup. There is no “forgot password” mechanism. There is no customer support team that can restore your wallet. If you lose your seed, you lose your funds—permanently and irreversibly. Recovery Seed Security. Your recovery seed (the 12, 24, or Shamir shares of words generated during setup) is the master key to your entire wallet. Anyone who obtains your seed can steal all funds secured by that wallet, regardless of whether they have physical possession of your Trezor device. Never photograph your seed, store it digitally, type it into any website or application, or share it with anyone—including anyone claiming to be from Trezor support. Trezor support will never ask for your seed. Store your seed offline, ideally in multiple secure physical locations, protected from fire, water, and theft. Phishing and Social Engineering. The cryptocurrency ecosystem is saturated with scams. Fake Trezor websites, fraudulent support channels, counterfeit devices, and malicious browser extensions are common. Always verify you are on trezor.io before entering any information. Trezor will never contact you unsolicited asking for your seed, PIN, or passphrase. If you receive such a request, it is a scam. Report it and do not engage. Software Risks. While Trezor Suite is open source and subjected to community review, no software is entirely free of bugs or vulnerabilities. You are responsible for keeping Suite updated to the latest version. Using outdated software may expose you to known security flaws. Additionally, the security of your computer or smartphone environment affects the security of your interactions with Suite. Malware on your host device could attempt to alter transaction details or intercept data; always verify transaction addresses and amounts on your Trezor device’s screen before confirming. Third-Party Services. Trezor Suite integrates with third-party providers for buying, selling, swapping, and staking. These services operate independently of Trezor. Their availability, fees, exchange rates, and regulatory compliance are outside Trezor’s control. Using a third-party service subjects you to that provider’s terms and risks, including potential account freezes, transaction delays, or service discontinuation. Trezor does not guarantee the performance or security of any third-party integration. Regulatory and Legal Compliance. Cryptocurrency regulations vary by jurisdiction and are evolving rapidly. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Trezor Suite and Trezor hardware complies with all applicable laws in your country of residence, including tax reporting obligations, anti-money-laundering requirements, and any restrictions on cryptocurrency ownership or trading. Trezor does not provide legal guidance and assumes no liability for your regulatory compliance. No Warranty and Limitation of Liability. Trezor Suite and Trezor hardware are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SatoshiLabs and Trezor Company s.r.o. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the software or hardware, including but not limited to loss of funds, loss of data, device malfunction, or unauthorized access—even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Assumption of Risk. By using Trezor Suite, you explicitly acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in cryptocurrency self-custody, including but not limited to: market volatility, irreversible transactions, technical failures, user error, theft, loss of recovery seed, phishing attacks, regulatory changes, and the possibility that a vulnerability in the software or hardware could be discovered and exploited. You accept full responsibility for these risks.
